Using the Guide
The purpose of this guide is to walk you through
setting up your character, and explain many of the concepts you'll be
dealing with in your time here. This will explain how to decide on a
character, how to create the character you have decided on, how to
move about in the world, and how things, such as magic, work here.
We've tried to create this guide to allow you to skim through, or only
read the sections you're interested in. We've tried to make things
simple to find, and keep the information as concise as possible. If
you have suggestions for the guide, please contact one of the wizards.
If you're new to Mucks, the first place you should probably start is Appendix C I: Basic Muck Commands. This will give you what you need to know to move around, communicate, or find information on the Muck itself. People who are not new to Mucks, but are new to Twisted Kingdoms, may wish to read through Appendix C II: TK Commands, which outlines some of the custom globals available.
You can also check out the Forums, where there are articles and FAQs that supplement this Guide with more detailed and specialized information.
Guide Standards
In the guide, you will find phrases in red, in a
slightly different font. These are commands that you type directly
into the muck to accomplish whatever it is you're trying to do. In
these phrases, there might also be a word or words enclosed in greater
than and less than signs (<>), these are parts of the command
that you'll need to replace with something else. For example, if the
guide says to type page <name> =
<message> and you're trying to page Joe with the
message 'Hello,' you would replace name with Joe, and message with
'Hello.' Like this: page Joe =
Hello.
Guide Kudos
This guide was compiled from the information files
on the muck (available by typing info),
which were written by the Twisted Kingdoms Wizard Staff. The web
pages were coded by Iluna with a stylesheet from BlueRobot. Many thanks and showers of
gratitude upon Tugrik for generously hosting these pages and the MUCK
itself.
